France, orbital or rotary dial clock, in the shape of a large urn, and with a red variegated marble case, the urn, base and cap all cut from the matching stone decorated with bronze trimmings, and with the time indicated via two rotating dials, one for minutes and one for hours, and with a jeweled serpent on the front of the urn, pointing to the current time, c1880
CONDITION:
this clock came to us from storage and has not run for some time; movement plates are discolored. Platform escapement is intact and ticking, and movement strikes on a bell. ht 18"
